The town of Cedar City will forever be changed with the announcement that Caitlyn Sears has verbally committed to sign a letter of intent with Southern Utah University during the upcoming November early signing period.   Caitlyn will be joining her sister who is playing softball for SUU.

Caitlyn has worked hard during her two years with our Metro program and was one of the original Metro players selected. Caitlyn is a tremendous athlete and we expect her to make huge contributions for the TBirds.  Cait has a outstanding upside as a basketball player..

Cait averaged 12.86 pts per game last season and is the leading returning scorer in 5A.  She is also a three year starter and leading scorer for the Knights.  Sears' other basketball honors include:

2006 Salt Lake Tribune 5A Second Team All State
2006 Deseret Morning News 4A Honorable Mention All State
2006 Deseret Morning News First Team All Utah Valley Team
2006 Daily Herald First Team All Utah Valley Team
2005 Pacific Coast Shootout 15U All Tournament Team
2005 Deseret Morning News 4A Honorable Mention All State
2005 Daily Herald All Valley Team.

Caitlyn joins former Salt Lake Metro players Erin Haskins and Aubrey (Orton) Degraffenreid who signed last year with Southern Utah University.  In addition, she joins fellow Salt Lake Metro teammate, Jamie Sagers who recently committed to Southern Utah University as well.  By the way Cait, they dont' go to Gandolfo's for pregame meals (inside joke).
