Former Metro Player Jessica Smith leads Weber to win in conference opener

Freshman Jessica Smith sparked Weber State with her career-high 12 points as the Wildcats won their Big Sky women's basketball opener against Northern Colorado on Thursday 78-66. Smith also grabbed eight rebounds.

The spark of the game came from WSU freshman Jessica Smith who posted a career-high 12 points, to go along with eight rebounds.  The Bountiful, Utah native was also 6-6 from the field. 

 

"Jessica was the difference in the first half with her rebounding and her defense," said WSU head coach Carla Taylor.  "We had been looking for someone to step up and she gave us great energy and excitement.
