Layton’s Adams to sign with Idaho State
LAYTON — Layton High School's Sheila Adams plans to sign a letter of intent to play college ball at Idaho State University
The 5-5 Adams played the past two years with the Salt Lake Metro club basketball team.
Adams is ranked as a top guard prospect in the state of Utah by the Intermountain Hoops Scouting Service. The service notes that “Adams is a tremendous athlete, all-state in multiple sports. She has big time range on her three and shoots very consistently. Has the ability to push the ball and early up into offenses or pull up and nail the three (point shot). She is a good penetrator and defender.”
Adams averaged 15.7 points, 4.6 assists, and four steals per game for Layton High during the 2006-2007 season. She also led the state of Utah in three-pointers made with 55, the seventh most in state history.
Layton’s record is 59-10 during Adams’ three years of play. Adams was selected 2007 5A First Team All State, Second Team All State, 2006 and 2007 5A First Team in softball.
