Former Metro player Tom Whitehead will enroll at Creighton University and become a Creighton Bluejay.   Tom played for Yavapai Junior College last season and is currently sitting out this year concentrating on academics.  Tom will complete the remainder of the 2008 season as a redshirt player for Creighton and will have three seasons to play.

Creighton University is in Omaha, Nebraska and is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference.  Coached by Dana Altman, Creighton has had 9 consecutive 20 win seasons prior to this year. They have made either the NIT or NCAA postseason tournaments for ten consecutive years. Creighton averaged over 15,000 fans per game last year, 13th nationally.   They are currently ranked 4th in the nation in the MidMajor top 25 poll

Congratulations to Tom on your scholarship. He is the fifth player in the class of 2008 to commit to a d-I school. His commitment brings the total number of 2008 Boys Metro players that have received scholarships to 5.
