Some of the top college post prospects were in Richfield last weekend playing in the Preseason Preview, an event that invited 16 of the top 2A teams to play two games in a state tournament-like atmosphere.
Beaver's Morgan Wood, North Sevier's Melissa Porter and Richfield's Jaquel Christensen - all over 6-foot-2 - averaged double digits over the weekend, with Wood leading the way with 34 total points for both days.
Wood and Christensen dominated inside by being physical and aggressive while Porter was solid in the key. Wood has already committed to Southern Utah University but Porter, who is also a stand-out volleyball player, has not yet decided. Christensen has another year to decide - she's just a junior.
There is Skyline's Dani Peterson (5A), Bingham's Erica Newbold (5A) and Box Elder's Mandy Munns (4A), but as a whole, 2A may have the best post players in the state.
