Bucknell Falls to North Dakota State in First Round of Golden Bear Classic

Dec. 28, 2007

BERKELEY, Calif. - Ben Woodside scored 31 points and Brett Winkelman had 21 points and 14 rebounds to help the Bison of North Dakota State to a 68-60 victory over the Bison of Bucknell in the first round of the Golden Bear Classic Friday afternoon at Haas Pavilion. Josh Linthicum had a career day with 18 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots for Bucknell, which missed its first 17 3-point attempts of the night and could not overcome a 24-point second-half deficit.

Linthicum was again a bright spot for Bucknell, as he surpassed his career highs in points and blocks and equaled his career best in rebounds. He was 7 of 11 from the field, including three dunks, and 4 of 7 from the foul line. Over his last four games, Linthicum is now averaging 12.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks. He became the first Bucknell player to record at least five blocks in a game since current assistant coach Dan Bowen had five against Georgia Southern on Nov. 29, 1998.

Josh Linthicum continues his fine recent play with 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks.
