Fremont's Mechel Hunt had a lot of time to work on her free throws.
Since tearing her anterior cruciate ligament, she's had about four months to just work on free throws.
It showed, as she hit 7 of 7 from the foul line in her first game back against Northridge on Friday. She led the Silver Wolves that night with 13 points, even though she played just seven minutes.
"She's just as aggressive," coach Larry Hadley said. "Mentally, she's right on the money. But the thing we worry about is winding her. We're not playing her a whole lot of minutes."
That's why Hunt will come off the bench again tonight against the Davis Darts. She will continue to do that until she gets to the same fitness level as the rest of her teammates. Hadley expects she'll be starting again by the second half of region.
