MECHEL HUNT, Fremont, basketball: This senior could have earned back her starting spot when she returned to the Silver Wolves' lineup a few weeks ago.
"We were ready to start her, but she told me that as long as we're doing what we're doing, which meant winning, that we shouldn't change anything," said Fremont basketball coach Larry Hadley. "She has the entire package, but she checks her ego at the door. She is a total team player."
Hunt is so athletic she's played five sports in her three-year career at Fremont — soccer, volleyball, track, softball and basketball. With Hunt back in the lineup, the Silver Wolves are unbeaten in region play.
"She is without a doubt our team leader," Hadley said. "She is the most athletic girl I have had the opportunity to coach."
