Salt Lake CC Volleyball Announces 2008 Signing Class

SALT LAKE CITY (February 1, 2008)- The Nationally ranked Salt Lake CC Volleyball team is pleased to announce the signing of 5 top recruits to the 2008 freshmen class. Brittny Lolohea (Highland H.S), Whitney Nilson (Skyline H.S), Analaine Palaez (Fremont H.S.), Annalisa Nostrant (Snow Canyon H.S.) and Lakelle Havens (Dixie H.S.).
"This is a fantastic group of freshman! Not only are they classy young ladies, but they are all very strong players with extensive athletic backgrounds and experience that will certainly contribute to the winning tradition here at SLCC, said Head Coach Shay Goulding “I am very excited to call them Bruins and to add them to the talent of our returning sophomores."
Brittny Lolohea, a 5’11 outside hitter and middle blocker, hails from the 2005 Highland High State Championship team. She was named All- Region and All-State each of her four years at Highland. She was also named the 2007 Molten Classic MVP.
Whitney Nilson, a 5’9 outside hitter, was named to the 2007 5A All-State team for Skyline High School. Whitney was named team captain for Skyline and made the Las Vegas Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Analaine Pelaez, a 5’10 outside hitter comes from Fremont High School. During her High School career she was named All-Region MVP, All-Area MVP and 5A All-State. In 2007 she was named the 5A State MVP.
Annalisa Nostrant, a 6’2 middle blocker from Snow Canyon High School was a member of the 2006 and 2007 State Championship Teams. She was named to the Senior All-Star Team and was 2006 All-State Second Team.
Lakelle Havens, a 6’1 middle blocker from Dixie High School in St. George, Utah was named to the 2007 All-State Team and the 2007 Senior All-Star Team. In 2006 Lakelle was named to the 2006 Second Team All-State Teams in Volleyball and Basketball.
METRO NOTES: SLCC's volleyball team was ranked no. 1 in the nation much of the past year and finished 3rd in the NJCAA national tournament. Congrats to Anna we look forward to watching you play.
