Shaun's a Bulldog

Former Metro player Shaun Oliverson has returned from his LDS mission and has enrolled at Louisiana Tech and become a Louisiana Tech Bulldog. Shaun played for Cornell University of the Ivy League prior to his mission. Shaun will complete the remainder of the 2008 season as a redshirt player for Louisiana Tech and will have three seasons to play.
Louisiana Tech is in Ruston, Louisiana and is a member of the Western Athletic Conference. They are coached by Kerry Rupp, former Utah interim head coach, assistant and East High head coach. Kerry was the high school coach of our coaches, David & Darrin Hammer, at East High School. Louisiana Tech is also the alma mater of former Jazz great Karl Malone. Karl is in charge of basketball promotions and is their assistant strength and conditioning coach.
Congratulations to Shaun on your scholarship. He is the sixth player in the class of 2008 to commit to a d-I school. His commitment brings the total number of 2008 Boys Metro players that have received scholarships to 7.
