Former Metro player Alaska Anchorage's McCade Olsen was selected as the NCAA Div II West Regional Most Outstanding Player.

Olsen totaled 69 points, 14 rebounds, five steals and six assists in UAA’s three regional-tourney victories. The 6-8 forward from Riverton, Utah, shot 58.5 percent from the floor (24 of 41) and was perfect on 17 free throws.

Alaska Anchorage (ranked #4 in the nation) defeated UC San Diego 80-60, Seattle Pacific 56-55 and BYU Hawaii 73-67 to advance to the NCAA div II elite eight.  Olsen scored 22 points and made two free throws with 1.7 seconds left in the one point victory over Seattle Pacific.

Congratulations to McCade on his selection.
