Metro player C J Wilcox selected Daily Herald Offensive Player of the Year. Congratulations to C J on his selection.

C.J. WILCOX, JR. GUARD (PLEASANT GROVE)

Wilcox led 5A in scoring by averaging 23.6 points per game and became one of the premiere offensive players in the state. He shot 48 percent from the field and 81 percent from the free throw line. He averaged 5.1 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 2.0 assists and 1.6 blocked shots.

"I haven't seen too many players put in the time he did to improve his game in the offseason. He was working on his game every day," said Pleasant Grove coach Randy McAllister. "I would say his work ethic is the No. 1 reason why he was unstoppable. He's 6-5, he jumps out of the gym, and he has one of the prettiest shots (of anyone) I've ever coached. When he raises up and gets off the ground, not too many people can challenge his shot."
