DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Kamille Lisonbee, MC, center

Standing at 6-foot-7, Lisonbee is an intimidating sight for opposing teams, which helped Mountain Crest shut down a lot of low-post teams.

“I think she changes, defensively, so many things for us, because people have to worry about coming in and facing her, and getting around her,” Crosbie said.

Lisonbee proved to be a defensive force all year, averaging 3.4 blocks per game to go along with her 6.0 rebounds per game. Lisonbee showed that she could take over a game defensively, as well as offensively.

On MC’s Senior Night, Lisonbee dished out eight blocks. She scored 17 points to go along with that.

“The more Kamille plays the better she gets,” Crosbie said. “Her footwork gets better, her confidence gets better. She keeps improving. She’s the one player that I hope continues to get the opportunity to play, because I don’t think she’s done improving and getting better as a player.”
