We will be issuing a number of blog entries regarding college recruiting.  There will be a number of areas covered such as NCAA Eligibility Center, recruiting rules, recruiting calendars, in-state recruiting and other various topics.   These entries are designed to help educate both players and parents as to how the process works.

We are proud of efforts over the years and the success we have had with our players and their recruitment to play collegiate basketball.   We have had a phenominal rate of success with placement of our players at the college level.

We recently passed the 250 college players (Boys and Girls) mark for the program (including the Utah Avalanche).   We have had more than 125 players(Boys and Girls) play NCAA d-I basketball.

The class of 2008 is still in process, we already have our first commitment in the class of 2009.

Here is the breakdown for the two previous classes (Classes of 2006 and 2007)

BOYS:

2007    10 Total Players    7 played collegiately     3 on LDS missions (will play on return)
2006    20 Total Players   18 played collegiately    1 played another sport   1 chose not to play

GIRLS:

2007  23 Total Players   19 played collegiately   2 played another sport    2 chose not to play
2006  12 Total Players   11 played collegiately   1 chose not to play

Of the players that didn't play, they all had scholarship opportunities (including d-I) but chose to move on with their schooling.  We expect similar numbers to those above for both 2008 classes.

Look for more infomation regarding collegiate recruiting in upcoming blog entries....
