Recruiting variances

There are rule variances between women's and men's basketball recruiting which will account for some different approaches by each. There also are some similarities as well.
Other possible variances will be from school to school. Some schools are more agressive in their methods, some interpret the vast NCAA rules differently. Each NCAA school has a compliance officer that helps in interpretinig the various NCAA rules. Many rules are viewed differently by the compliance officers.
Some schools/coaches are more professional or better organized than others. All have their own approaches as to how to go about recruiting an athlete. Don't assume because one school is more agressive in their approach that they may want you more than the other school.
If you are trying to determine how serious a school is about recruiting you, you need to compare their own individual methods and how they are treating other athletes they are recruiting relative to their interest in you.
We will go over some of the rule variances between Men's and Women's recruiting in future posts. We will also give you some guidelines to help determine how serious your recruitment has become. These are just interpretations based on years of experience in dealing with college recruiters.
