We will be providing blog entries from some of our players as they go through their college seasons.
Here is an entry from Alexis Kaufusi as she enters BYU:So far my experience at BYU has been really great! I went to school during summer semester which was a big shocker for me. For the first time in years I actually had to do homework, read my text book, and study for hours for a final. I am majoring in exercise science with the intentions of attending medical school but we will see how everything pans out. I spent many hours in the library and in the student athletic building studying and trying to find all the smart peopel to help me out. But enough about school, time to talk basketball.
Basketball in college is amazingly fun!! Very hard and testing at times but it all pays off in the end. I have spent all summer conditioning and lifting working towards a goal. I came in and was asked to lose 15 lbs. I never thought I could do this, but to my amazement it has 3 and a half months of working out with the team and i have lost 35 lbs! Unlike high school college basketball is hard. The warm ups we do now was my conditioning at Timpview. I spent many days in an ice bath and rarely went out at nights. Sleep and eating healthy became important. I almost died the first day of conditioning. I never in my life had full out sprinted 2 laps around a track, being timed. It was so hard!! but as time went on it got easier. Lifting was always nice, I felt I could actually do the lifting without wanting to die. As I did the conditioning, it got easier the closer I got to my teammates. I realized it wasn't about me, but it was about my team. I learned quickly that its ok to not make the play or be the star. Yes I did struggle at first but I am slowly gettin the idea of it. It has been a humbling experience playing with these girls who are bigger, faster, and some stronger then I am.
Being at BYU has been great. I love it and just cant wait for season! If you ever want to come to a game lemme know! It's been great having such a growing and life changing experience in my life!

As you can see Fus is back! Two years ago she suffered an ACL injury which limited her high school experience. Alexis has been working hard this summer and working on her game. Look for big things from Fus this season playing for the Cougars.
We will keep you updated on our many collegiate players as they go through their college seasons.
