Salt Lake Men’s Basketball gets their first win of the season

Sterling, Colorado (November 7, 2008)—
Salt Lake Community College (1-0, 0-0) men’s basketball defeated Garden City College today at the Ramada Round Ball Tournament by the score of 81-72 .  The play of sophomores Nate Bendall, Dathan Lyles and freshman DJ Wright helped to lead the Bruins to the nine point victory. Bendall lead all Bruin scorers with 25 points.  He was 8 of 11 from the floor. Lyles, had 14 points, 3 assists and 4 steals on the day and Wright had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The team shot 54% and overall it was a good first win while at the Northeastern Tournament. Tomorrow the Bruins take the hardwood again when they play #15 Northeastern in the conclusion of the Ramada Round Ball Tournament.
