SLCC.EDU: Women’s basketball gets third win of the season

Cedar City, UT. (November 8, 2008) #24 Salt Lake women’s basketball beat Lethbridge College by the score of 84-69. The Bruins and the Kodiaks were tied 37-37 going into halftime, and the Bruins’ offense exploded in the second half.

The key players from tonight’s game were sophomore Nicole Brady, freshman Kelsey Sparkman and freshman Mina Jovanovic. Brady lead all Bruin scorers with 24 points and she had 8 rebounds. Sparkman had a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds and Jovanovic had 16 points and 8 assists during the win.

The team as a whole shot 50% for the game and they were 20 of 26 from the foul line. Coach Specketer said “we had a good second half and we shot well from the free throw line.” The team takes the hardwood for the SLCC basketball Tournament on Thursday when they play Midland College at 3 p.m. followed by Central Arizona at 5 p.m. and Ohlone Community College at 7 p.m.
