Women’s basketball shot their way to another victory

Salt Lake City, UT. (November 13, 2008) #24 Salt Lake women’s basketball defeated Ohlone College by the score of 70-65 in the first home game of the season.

The key players from tonight’s game were sophomores Nicole Brady, Marquina Gilliam-Hicks, and freshman Mina Jovanovic. Brady played a solid game for the Bruins. She had a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds. She finished 7-15 from the floor. Gilliam-Hicks scored 14 points, she ended with 4 steals and 4 rebounds. She was a clutch free thrower shooter in the final stretch going 8 of 9 from the line. Jovanovic scored 21 points, which was a team high.  She also had 2 steals, 7 rebounds and was 9-12 from the free throw line.

The team as a whole had 15 steals, 46 rebounds, and 1 block. The team takes to the hardwood tomorrow again for the SLCC basketball Tournament when they play Midland @ 6 p.m.
