#19 Lady Bruins win their eighth game of the season

 

Twin Falls, ID. (December 5, 2008) #19 Salt Lake women’s basketball team defeated Lethbridge College for a second time this season 75-58 in their second game of the Boise Office Equipment Tournament hosted by the College of Southern Idaho. The Lady Bruins improve to 8-3 on the season after today’s win.  

Five Bruins were in double-digit scoring including Allie Lunt, Kelsey Sparkman, Marquina Gilliam-Hicks, Nicole Brady and Dayna Burgess. Lunt came off the bench and had a big game. She was the second leading scorer with 16 points including 4 three-point balls. Sparkman lead the team with 17 points, and 9 rebounds. Gilliam-Hicks had 14 points and 7 assists for the game and lastly Brady had 13 points and 9 rebounds.

 For the game, the Bruins were down by two ending the first half.  Salt Lake out scored Lethbridge 47-28 in the second half. The team shot 9 of 16 from the three point line.  But all in all, the key factor of the game was the lady Bruins was their ability to out rebound Lethbridge 46-27.  

Salt Lake takes to the hardwood tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. for their last game of the tournament against Foothill.
