SNOW COLLEGE WOMEN SPLIT ON ROAD

by Kevin White

The Snow College Women’s Basketball team split a road trip beating Air Force Prep Thursday night 80-61 before falling to No. 14 Northeastern on Saturday 53-43.

Against Air Force Prep the Lady Badgers once again started slowly. However, the depth and inside strength eventually helped the Lady Badgers gain a halftime lead they never relinquished.

Torle Nenbee and Amy Parkinson dominated the paint, finishing with with 16 and 14 points respectively.

“It was great to see everyone come out a play much better the second half” said Coach Cindy Lindsay. “We have to continue to prepare ourselves to give our best night in and night out”.

Saturday in Sterling, the Lady Badgers struggled against a top-ranked opponent shooting less than 30 percent and committing 36 turnovers (which led to 20 Northeastern points).

“I am pleased with our performance these kids came in here and fought the entire 40 minutes”, states Coach Lindsay. We really battled defensively but we had to many turnovers.”

Torle Nenbee ended the game with an impressive 12 points and 15 rebounds while Amy Parkinson pulled down 8 rebounds.

The Lady Badgers now stand at 5-6 and have won three of their last four. They next play Saturday night at Treasure Valley College in Ontario, Oregon.
