As the oldest of four children, senior Tina Fakahafua has no trouble asserting herself.

"She is really outgoing, a people person who gets along with everyone and is the life of the party," said her mom, Mary Jane Fakahafua. Rather than telling her daughter to tone it down, she encouraged her to find herself in sports. Basketball seemed to fit her daughter's personality perfectly.

"Tina plays so hard all of the time," said Judge head coach Jeremy Chatterton. "It's hard to be her teammate and not play that hard."

Both her coaches and parents said Fakahafua became even more valuable to the Bulldogs this season when she expanded her duties to mentoring younger players.

"One of the most rewarding things has been to watch her be a leader," Mary Jane said. "She's stepped up to that role. She's really taken the girls in and helped them."

Chatterton said she's always been a leader on the court. This year, however, she took the time to help teach some of the younger junior varsity players, as well.

Fakahafua averaged 14.05 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while creating opportunities for her teammates on the perimeter.

"Tina just creates so much for our other players," Chatterton said.

And her work ethic is second to none.

"I don't know that I've ever seen a player hit the floor as much as she does," he said laughing. "She just has a positive, infectious personality. As much as she wants to beat a team like Wasatch, after the game, she's running up and giving (coach) Roger Pyper a hug. She's one of those personalities that draws people to her."
