Former Metro Players Shaun Oliverson (Louisiana Tech) and Tyler Newbold (Utah State) were selected to the 2008-2009 academic all-WAC men's basketball team.
In addition former Metro player Camille Fehlberg (Utah State) was selected to the 2008-2009 academic all-WAC women's indoor track team
