Metro player Ashley Garfield was selected Standard Examiner All Area First Team. Congratulations to Ashley on her selection.

   Year:    Sophomore

   Position:    Small forward/ Power Forward

   Height:    5-foot-10

   On the court:   

On the court: Garfield, a two-year starter, averaged 11.4 points (season-high 22) on 44.5 percent shooting and 64.0 percent free-throw shooting. She also averaged 7.8 rebounds (season-high 13 twice), 3.1 assists and 3.2 steals with five doubledoubles for the Region 11 runnerup Trojans (8-2, 18-7 overall).

   Coach Brad Matthews’ comments: “Ashley was the player who could do everything for our team. She plays above the floor, and that really helps her to score and get offensive rebounds. Ashley led our team in nearly every statistical category. With her work ethic, the possibilities for Ashley are limitless.”
