Allie Eastman Signs with Westminster

SALT LAKE CITY – Allie Eastman of Rich High School in Rich, Utah has signed an NAIA letter of intent to join the Westminster women’s basketball team for the 2009-10 season. Eastman was named the 2008 and 2009 Class 1A MVP while leading her team to the state championship each year. During her time at Rich High School the team went an impressive 85-11 overall.
As a senior, Eastman averaged 17.8 points per game and led the state of Utah with 2.8 makes from beyond the arc per game. She finished her career with 167 career 3-pointers to rank second in state history. Eastman was named the 2009 Utah State 1A Tournament Most Valuable Player and was a McDonalds All-American nominee. She made the All-Tournament team in 2007 and 2008 and was First Team All-State in 2007.
“Allie is long, skilled, and can really shoot it,” head coach JD Gustin commented. “She is a tremendous student-athlete and will fit in nicely to our program.”
Westminster is coming off a 27-7 overall record and a trip to the second round of the NAIA National Tournament. They finished the Frontier Conference regular season with a 14-0 mark to claim the first conference championship in school history
