Bishop named CAA Defensive Player of the Week

Freshman Nicole Bishop has been named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week the conference announced Monday. Bishop had an impressive debut for the Huskies as she totaled 19 blocks to help Northeastern to two wins at the Madison Bingman Memorial Tournament in Baltimore, Md.
The 6'5 Bishop posted eight blocks in a 3-0 victory over Long Island in the opening game of the tournament. She followed that up with a 11 block, six kill performance with a .333 attack percentage in a tightly contested 3-2 win over UMBC to help the Huskies take the tournament crown.
Northeastern returns to action Tuesday, September 1 at 7 p.m. against Rhode Island at Solomon Court.
