BYU Sports: Basketball team captains will be Jackson Emery, Lamont Morgan Jr.
Forgot to mention in an earlier post that the team captains for BYU men’s basketball this year will be junior Jackson Emery and senior Lamont Morgan Jr.It is a bit of a surprise, considering that Jonathan Tavernari is a senior and one of the team’s top two players. And junior Jimmer Fredette is the MWC Preseason Player of the Year.
Both Morgan and Emery called it a “great honor” to be selected by their teammates as captains.
“It just tells you the trust your teammates have in you, as well as the coaches,” Morgan said.
Added Emery: “It is an honor to be a captain on this team, because there are so many great guys....We have a lot of great leadership as it is. I think anyone can step in and tell us what we need to do.
To be in that position where they have asked us to do that, I think is something incredible.”
