Girls Basketball: West Wendover star picks Nevada
Another member of the Salt Lake Metro girls club basketball team has made a college decision.
Danika Sharp of West Wendover, Nev., has committed to Nevada and will sign with the Wolfpack on Nov. 11. She is believed to be the first athlete from her town to land a Division I athletic scholarshp.
Sharp averaged 29.7ppg (832 points) 3.9 assists, 6.6 rebounds and 6.6 steals per game as a junior.
She shot 50 percent from the field and 42 percent from three-point range, making 73 out of 172 three-point attempts.
Sharp led the state of Nevada in scoring last year and has been the Southern 2A Player of the Year for three straight year. She is on track to break the state record for scoring, with 1,870 points in three years.
She was recruited by 21 Division-I schools, including Utah, BYU, New Mexico, Utah State, Wyoming and others.
