At Ashton, Allisa Harrigfeld scored her 1,000th career point during the first two minutes and got to enjoy a blowout the rest of the night as North Fremont beat American Falls 75-20 in high school girls basketball Wednesday night.
Harrigfeld led all scorers with 27 points. Balloons were popped when she reached the career milestone, but no other ceremony was necessary or wanted.
“She is really humble about it,” North Fremont coach Ben Lenz said. “She’s not someone who looks for her own every night. She plays within herself and within the team. It’s nice to see it happen to a player like that. She really hated the attention.”
Along with the milestone, North Fremont raced out to a 22-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.
“We forced a lot of turnovers, played with a lot of intensity and the girls played up to another level on the defensive side,” Lenz said.
Emily Trosen added 20 points for North Fremont and Jocelyn Allen scored 13.
North Fremont (7-0) travels to Teton today.
Bonneville 58, Blackfoot 48: At Bonneville, Bonneville rallied from a six-point halftime deficit in its conference opener to remain undefeated thanks to a 22-point fourth quarter.
“We pressed them a little bit (in the fourth quarter) and that helped,” Bonneville coach Ryan Harrigfeld said. “But Blackfoot is a good team, very well coached. They’re going to be tough later on in the year.”
Blackfoot’s Bailey Brown led all scorers with 24 points. Mailie Garner and Katie Harker led Bonneville with 17 points apiece.
Bonneville (7-0, 1-0) hosts Skyline on Friday.
