Nicole Yazzie Named Conference Player of the Week

SALT LAKE CITY– Nicole Yazzie of Westminster College was named the Frontier Conference’s Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. She becomes the third different Griffin to win the award this season and this is the fourth time the award has gone to a Westminster player.
Yazzie is a 5’7” freshman guard from Taylorsville, Utah. Westminster won two games on the road, beating Rocky Mountain College 99-77 and Carroll College 71-68.
Yazzie averaged 25.5 points, six rebounds, 6.5 assists and three steals per game. She hit 60 percent of her field goals, 55 percent of her three-point field goals and 91 percent of her free throws. Against Rocky, she tied a career high with nine assists. Against Carroll, she tied a career high with 27 points and set a career high with nine rebounds.
