Ashley Garfield, a 5-foot-11 guard from Morgan High, has committed to play women’s basketball for BYU coach Jeff Judkins.

According to Dave Hammer, coach of her Salt Lake Metro club basketball team, Garfield will sign with BYU during November’s fall signing period.

The senior-to-be was The Tribune’s 3A girls volleyball MVP last fall and a first-team all-state basketball selection last winter. She was also recruited by Colorado, Utah, Long Beach State, Nebraska and Princeton.

Garfield will be joined at BYU by Springville’s Lexi Eaton, the 4A girls basketball MVP who committed to the Cougars a year ago. Eaton is also expected to sign with BYU in November.
