Metro player Ashley Garfield was selected Standard Examiner All Area First Team. Congratulations to Ashley on her selection.
On the court: One of the best players to ever don a Morgan uniform, "Spud" led the Trojans in just about every statistical category. She averaged 20.3 points, 9.9 rebounds 4.3 assists 4.0 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. She recorded 15 double-doubles, one triple-double, hit 50 percent of her field goal attempts and was 83 percent from the free throw line. The BYU-signee was a McDonald's All-America nominee.
Coach Brad Matthew's comments: " She was a competitor and she would do everthing it took to win. She is always going to play basketball like she knows how, which is unselfish and including her teammates."
