Metro player Emilie Volk was selected Standard Examiner All Area First Team. Congratulations to Emilie on her selection.
On the court: Volk, just a sophomore, was one of the best players this season on any level helping the Crusaders posted a glossy 19-2 mark, losing in the state 1-A tournament twice to end their season. She averaged 19.5 points per game, 8.3 rebounds,and 6.3 assists over those 21 games. She also swiped 6.2 steals per game with 1.8 blocks.
Coach Rob McGill's comments: " Emilie is one of the best players in the state for her age. She is so well-rounded and takes care of everything on both ends of the floor. She is a terrific scorer and tenacious defender. She did a good job of making people around her better."
